Ignite!
On 3rd July 2026, 83 young people joined together for Ignite.
Ignite is a worship event which is open to Youth from any church in our local area. It is organised jointly between the churches and this time it was being hosted at Christ the King.
We had a really brilliant evening. It was great to see young people worshipping Jesus together. Young people from 11 different churches (and some who didn’t attend church at all) came together to have fun, hear testimony and worship Jesus together. For some who came, this was their first experience of anything church related at all. One person who came with a church group responded to a call to accept Jesus for the first time. Another person who was initially closed off to any ‘Jesus stuff’ later went up for prayer.
Everyone who took part – the youth band, the young lady from Open Door who shared her testimony of walking in the light, the young rapper and the lad who preached from Ephesians 5 – did SO well.
Jesus was worshipped, the truth was proclaimed and relationships were built. It was so encouraging to be working missionally with other churches: expressing unity, supporting our youth and proclaiming the kingdom together. We are already looking forward to the next Ignite event!
Please do pray for the youth of our area; that God would break into lives and win them to himself.
