Wallet Testimony

My testimony begins with a huge “Thank you” to God- on 2nd September 2026, after more than 2½ years, my wife Helen and I finally secured the house God had planned for us!

The following day, I had been doing some outreach in Kettering Horsemarket, and I was walking home through town, and my wallet fell out of my pocket (but I didn’t know it at the time!) That afternoon I was at the blood donor centre when I received a call from the Estate Agent we had bought the house through the previous day.

“Ian, have you lost your wallet?” I felt in my pockets. To my surprise, I had!

“Well, we have it here!”

I was amazed! Of all the people who might have found it, it was the very same people we had been dealing with about the house!

So, I went to collect it, and found something even more amazing… The contact number I had put in for such a time as this, when my wallet is lost and found, that number was incorrect by one digit! They called the number, but the person didn’t know me! But, with me being a client, they recognised my name and gave me a call! Anyone else finding my wallet would have been dialling the wrong number! The Estate Agent said she’d finished a piece of work and felt she wanted to step out of the office for a few minutes! I think that was a divinely inspired break!

So, I give thanks for the goodness of God and His care for me. The Lord prevented anyone else from picking up the wallet (at worst, anyone might have taken its contents; at best, they would have found my number, but then found it was wrong and so impossible to contact me!)

Jesus said (John 12:26), “If anyone serves Me, I will honour him.” And Psalm 23:6a says, “Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life.” How true that is! Nothing is hidden from His sight; our loving heavenly Father really does watch over us- simply because we are His children, and He loves us so very much… and just like any good father would, our heavenly Father loves to give us surprises that make us smile and feel so thankful that we belong to Him!
